This product is a database of feature items. Entries include information such as the recognized name for the feature; the country and administrative division in which each named feature is located; and the geographic coordinates that locate the approximate center of an areal feature or the source of a linear feature. Other data such as elevation, population, descriptive information, etc. are provided where available.
The data is easily imported into the majority of database applications available today such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, MS Access, dBase, Paradox, FoxPro, and others. Because the data is available in simple text files, it can be used on almost every type of computer, including PCs and compatibles, Macintoshes, and UNIX/Linux workstations and servers. Microsoft Access and standard HTML versions are also supplied.
